What is Community composting?
Composting is the natural process of breaking down various organic matter into a nutrient-rich resource (compost) that can be used to fight climate change, reduce landfill waste, and reduce the need for artificial fertilizer application on crops.
We offer collection services to local residents and organizations in our community who want to save their food scraps and other compostable goods from rotting away, wasted in the landfill!
Our finished compost is donated to local agricultural projects, sold to local residents, or returned to our Community Compost Program members for their own gardening projects!
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to become working partners with like-minded community members, organizations, and governments to help heal the world's soil, water, and air..
We are taking proceeds and re-investing it directly back into the planet - by composting and planting as much as we can!
Renüable believes the world should aim to be more sustainable. And because the United States is currently the largest importer of bamboo products, and will be for the foreseeable future, we believe we should be planting a lot more bamboo locally to reduce the carbon emissions from shipping such huge quantities of products around the world (usually by cargo ship, negating any carbon the bamboo captured from growing there!).
We set aside profits from sales & services to fund green initiative ventures, such as new community compost sites, and donation of compost to local farmers and community gardens.
WHY ARE WE OBSESSED WITH BAMBOO?
Bamboo is an amazing natural resource that is currently being extremely underutilized.
Bamboo has over 1,500 current uses, many of which could completely replace products currently being made from plastic.
Acre for acre, bamboo traps up to 10x the amount of carbon dioxide compared to a typical forest, and produces up to 35% more oxygen, too!
Bamboo does not need to be replanted for up to 140 years and grows larger and larger every year.
Bamboo can be grown on degraded, unstable land and can create and improve soil fertility, while reducing erosion and runoff.
As a building material, it is stronger than steel but when turned into sustainable eco-friendly products, our Renüable bamboo material has natural anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-odor properties, while staying strong & soft.

BAMBOO NEEDS REGULAR MAINTENANCE, WHAT ABOUT WASTE FROM THIS PROCESS?
This is where things get interesting! The more you trim and manage bamboo, the better it grows! and... The trimmings from bamboo are not actually a "waste" at all. Instead, bamboo trimmings have over a thousand potential uses that are able to help replace items that are currently being produced with plastics and toxic chemicals.
For example, our sustainably-harvested bamboo toothbrush handles replace plastic brushes & can simply be composted after their time is up!
